How do I configure my account to use php 5?

UPDATE 7/7/08 - We do not offer php4 any longer considering it is not supported any longer. All servers are php5.

Our servers have both php4 and php5 installed on them. By default, it will show php 4 is installed. If you need to use php 5 on your site, you will need to add the floowing line in your .htaccess file:

AddHandler application/x-httpd-php5 .php

PHP 5 can only be accessed using your domain name. It can not be accessed using a temporary URL.

This is due to a change in the way PHP 5 is configured on the servers.
The change was required to make it possible to use custom php.ini files
with PHP 5. When using a temporary URL the server has no way to
identify the user that owns the site thus can not run PHP as the site
owner. This causes the server to generate the error when using the
temporary URL.

How do I turn a cpanel account into a WHM account in WHM Master Reseller?

Upgrade a cPanel Account to a WHM Account in WHM Master Reseller

Do you want to Upgrade a cPanel Account to a WHM Account?

WHMreseller software will do this for you. This feature is useful
if you have a host billing software program that auto-creates cPanel
accounts. You can accept WHM orders through your billing software and
then use WHMreseller to upgrade the cPanel account to WHM.

Enter your WHMresller program and choose tab Upgrade / Downgrade :

Select the cPanel account from the drop down menu, enter it’s space and bandwidth and that’s it:

What can I do to help your tech support department help me with my account?

There are a few steps that will help you to get the most accurate and efficient support.

#1 Always use our support ticket system, do not email our support department.

Log into your account at http://www.mypowerhost.com/accounts/ and open a support ticket. Only our team leaders have access to our support email account so by using our support ticket system, you will insure that your problem is handled by the support tech(s) on duty at that moment. Did you know that we supply our on duty techs with blackberries and your support ticket is forwarded to them as soon as you send it? If there is an emergency, it is handled in minutes. If you send an email, it may not be received until the next day. Also, we can stay organized by using the support ticket system! We can assign the tickets to different departments or tech's with the click of a button. So please always use our support ticket system.

#2 Always provide your username and domain name when creating a support ticket.

Here is an example:

Hi, I was wondering what my bandwidth quota is? My username is "charity2" and my domain is www.charity.com. Thank you!

#3 Be specific! Be specific! Be specific!

BAD:

I just tried logging in and I got an error. Please help!

GOOD:

Hi, I just tried logging into my cpanel (now we know where to look) and got the following error:

ERROR #12345 This account INSERT ERROR MESSAGE HERE (Now we know the error so we can find out how to fix it)

my username is "charity2" and my domain is www.charity.com Thank you!

#4 Always create a new support ticket for each new problem, question or concern. Do not mix ticket subjects. If a ticket has been closed and you have another question on it, just re-open the ticket.

#5 Try and be detailed in the ticket subject. The tickets will not be deleted so you can always go back and view them later. If you enter the subject as "What are my nameservers?" you can easily find the closed ticket later if you need your nameservers again later. If you name the subject "I have a question" then it will be hard to use later if you need the information again.

I just bought your Master Reseller package, where do I start?

The first step is to create your hosting packages. This is done in your whm panel, not the whmreseller panel. To view a tutorial on package management, click on the following link:

http://www.mypowerhost.com/support/w1.php

Please note: WHMreseller is not compatible with the word unlimited. If you would like to create hosting accounts that allow for unlimited use lots of 99999999’s instead. Overselling is allowed on the server so your clients will not run out of space.

The next step is to Create your sub-whm accounts. Click here to the next tutorial:
